Mental Ray is making me mental!

The last time i even touched 3D studio Max was somewhere in 2008. Back then i had a conversation with a nice man that works at Virtek 3D. That couldn't have happened at a worse time. You all know what happened so I am not going in to that again.

I was ready to throw in the towel. Give it all up. But then what am I going to do with myself? 3D is what I know best. It's what I love to do the most. I bought some “light” reading on Mental Ray, Maya and animation. I thought I start of small. Nothing too fancy on the modelling part. I just really wanted to get a deeper understanding of Mental Ray. I am starting to get it. So I'm going to keep following this course. Make some more of these. I might even go back and fix that project I did back in 2008. Just check the 2008 posts. The “Daylight system” post is what I'm talking about

I based this image on Batman Beyond background art made by Paul Rivoche. I liked its simplicity and that's exactly what I was going for. My own image is somewhat larger. I made it all by eye, so the proportions are all wrong. But that wasn't what I was going for. I wanted to make a good rendering with Mental Ray. I think I succeeded with that. It's not 100 percent what I was going for but it's good enough for now. From here on out...the only way is up!
